Title
Choosing the Right Shoe for Your Foot
posted on Friday, July 20, 2007

Even if you run just two days a week, properly fitting running shoes are a must. To make sure you are getting the proper fit for your foot, take this quick and easy test. Get your feet wet and step on a paper bag. Match your print to one of the following:

Classic Foot Shape (Neutral) – If your footprint is connected fairly evenly from forefoot to heel, look for a happy medium of cushioning and stability with a semi-curved sole.

Brick-Shaped (Pronator) – If your entire sole (or most of it) leaves a mark, find a show with motion control and firm materials on the inner side of the midsole to keep your foot from sinking inwards as it lands.

C-Shaped (Supinator) – If there is little or no print between the forefoot and the heel, find  a shoe with a curved or semi-curved sole plus lateral stability features to prevent outward rolling of the foot.
